Bible Translation Work in Uganda

There is an exciting Bible Translation Project taking place in the Koboko region, in the north western tip of Uganda. The people there are refugees from the war zone in South Sudan, who speak the Keliko language.

Until recently, there was no part of the Bible in Keliko, so they have been using the Bali Bible, learning Bali in order to be able to read the Bible. They were determined to have the Bible in their own language and began to work on a translation of the New Testament. Despite having to flee from their own country, they have continued translating in the refugee camps and they completed the New Testament in 2018, with the help of Wycliffe Bible Translators.

They are now beginning the Old Testament work. Philip and Heidi are going to Uganda in July to find out more about this project.

This video link shows the celebration at the completion of the New Testament and explains more about the work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eIHB4sVJ2cs
